Compelling Validation of New Cannabis Study
By Susan Boskey
During this season of Covid-19 a new scientific study done by Realm of Caring was released June 8 after two years of in-depth research: A Cross-Sectional and Prospective Comparison of Medicinal Cannabis Users and Controls on Self-Reported Health. The study includes both CBD and cannabis since both have significant medicinal value.
With over 80 years of cannabis prohibition lurking in the background for so many, this study is a game changer: it greatly validates the use of cannabis for its health benefits. The hope is that as cannabis comes further out of the shadows as a legitimate medicine, researchers will gain access to funding for human clinical trials and studies. Some of the benefits reported by the control group using cannabis include: quality of life, less need for traditional healthcare resources, better sleep in both adults and children, less anxiety and depression and lower chronic pain. It wasn’t surprising to me that people claim to feel better when using medical cannabis, but it was unexpected to see that these people utilized less health care resources. ~ Ryan Vandrey, associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine
As I have mentioned many times, why not use what’s proven to be non-toxic and non-addictive when used responsibly? Additionally, by using a cannabis/CBD formulation for anxiety and depression, physical health, also, inevitably improves. Especially during this time of Covid-19, we could all use a little boost.
