Vegan Pizzeria To Donate 100% Of Profits From New Pizza To Build Homes for Rescue Pigs
If you visit the UK this summer, be sure to stop by the best (and only) vegan pizzeria: Purezza. Not only does the award-winning restaurant offer delectable pizzas but it has also committed to donating 100% of the profits from its new The Laughing Pig pizza to an animal sanctuary. The funds will be used to make homes for rescue pigs.
As Vegan Food & Living reports, the summer pizza is topped with cheese-style sauce, asparagus tips, yellow plum tomatoes, and salami made from jackfruit. All of the profits from the pig-inspired pizza will be donated to the Friend Farm Animal Sanctuary. The safe haven is devoted to providing care and refuge for rescue animals who were born into the factory farm system. Many were en route to the slaughterhouse.

The pig arks will be made out of recycled materials and will provide shelter to the rescue pigs for the duration of their lives. Said Tim Barclay, the co-owner and co-founder of Purezza: “Anyone who cares about creating happier lives and a better world for animals will be inspired by the incredible work that Friend Farm Animal Sanctuary does.”
“I’ve always loved the work that they do for rescue animals, and when it came to choosing who to support with our latest charity pizza there was a unanimous agreement from everyone at Purezza that it should be FFAS,” Barclay added. “We’re truly honoured to be able to donate to them through the launch of our latest pizza.”
This isn’t the first time the plant-based pizzeria has made headlines. For example, Purezza was recently awarded the top prize at the National Pizza Awards after becoming the first vegan pizzeria to be nominated for the award. The pie shop also claimed the top prize at the World Pizza Championships.
