Betty White is 96 – Her Secret to Long and Happy Life
By Heather Callaghan, Editor
Betty White has got to be the most beloved nonagenarian alive today. She’ll be 96 years young on January 17 and shows no signs of stopping her active life. Seriously, look her up on IMDB and you’ll see some of her work is in post-production – she is still going to work every day!
She is so unique in that her popularity has reached a fever pitch toward her twilight years, showing that you’re never too old to do what you love. The world doesn’t just favor the youth – they are endeared by that rare spark of life.
She is a fan favorite especially among millennials who fondly remember the Golden Girls when it first aired on television in the 1980s (and who are now watching it every night on Hulu!).

Her career continued to crescendo from there. But before she played Rose Nylund on Golden Girls, she was also on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Betty White Show.
Betty White Wants You To Know How to Have A Long Happy Life
Her secret is simple and much like her character’s outlook on Golden Girls:
Positivity!
And humor!
She says it can be acquired by simply looking for the brighter side instead of what you can complain about.
White told Parade:
I know it sounds corny, but I try to see the funny side and the upside, not the downside.
I get bored with people who complain about this or that. It’s such a waste of time.
Betty White’s biggest Tip on Longevity
“Enjoy life.”
Accentuate the positive, not the negative. It sounds so trite, but a lot of people will pick out something to complain about, rather than say, ‘Hey, that was great!’ It’s not hard to find great stuff if you look.

As for anyone serious about breaking into the Entertainment sector, she offered advice that I believe is great for any career you may be thinking about:
Do your work, learn your lines and come in prepared – Don’t think you can wing it, because you can’t. We’re in show business, which is fun, but take your business seriously, because it is a serious business.
She is also a really big fan of vodka and hot dogs, showing that we all need some enjoyment in our lives!
