7 Fruits Which Boost Healthy Testosterone Production
By Mae Chan
Most people don’t associate fruits with testosterone production, however there are many which boost the hormone in the human body.
Fructose is not a problem when it comes to most of these fruits and nature provides the perfect balance of compounds to benefit our health.
1. BANANAS
Bananas contain the enzyme bromelain, which some studies have found boosts a man’s libido. Bromelain has also been reported to have anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects. Bananas are are also rich in B vitamins, such as riboflavin, which are essential for the manufacturing of testosterone.

2. RED GRAPES
Red grapes are rich in polyphenols and specifically resveratrol. It inhibits aromatase enzyme. It has been of genuine interest to uncover an aromatase-inhibitory compound from a dietary source and red grapes is one of those sources. Resveratrol has a stimulating effect on both testosterone and sperm production and it is so anti-estrogenic that it is powerful enough to destroy cancer cells.
3. AVOCADO
Avocados are associated with better diet quality and nutrient intake level, lower intake of added sugars, lower body weight, BMI and waist circumferences, higher “good cholesterol” levels and lower metabolic syndrome risk. They are jam-packed with natural cholesterol which is the precursor of sex hormones and highly linked to increased testosterone levels. It’s high in monounsaturated fats which also increase testosterone.
Both men and women who drink a daily glass of the fruit’s juice can experience a surge in testosterone, which increases sexual desire in both genders. In this study, pomegranates increased testosterone levels by a whopping 24% in healthy human subjects. Pomegranates also inhibit the aromatase enzyme which converts testosterone into estrogen. Several compounds in the fruit are anti-estrogenic. The superfood’s ingredients also help fight various forms of cancer, alleviate the symptoms of osteoarthritis and cure stomach upsets and even conjunctivitis. They also help to protect your body’s cells from free radicals.
5. MANGOSTEEN
Compounds in mangosteen (gamma-mangostin and garcinone D)Â decrease estrogen levels more effectively than Letrozole, a synthetic estrogen blocker heavily used by professional bodybuilders.
6. PINEAPPLE
For the same reason bananas benefits health testosterone production, so does pineapples. They too contain bromelain. Many bodybuilders recommend eating a little bit of pineapple with each meal. As it turns out, bromelain also helps the body digest and use protein. It also reportedly helps you recover faster from brutal workouts, speeds healing and boosts the immune system.
7. CITRUS FRUITS
Citrus fruits are very high in vitamin C, which decreases the stress hormone cortisol. Cortisol and testosterone are counterproductive, and even the slightest decrease in cortisol levels will help your body to preserve more of testosterone. Citrus fruits are also anti-estrogenic, and have a aromatase blocking effect. That’s mainly due to compounds called limonenes which have shown promise to both prevent and treat cancer. They effectively inhibit the conversion from testosterone to estrogen. Limonenes also strongly enhance detox enzymes in the liver increasing the body’s ability to process accumulated toxins.
