Has The Pentagon Secretly “Bioweaponized” Insects, Including Ticks? Congress To Investigate

By Catherine J. Frompovich

According to Russia Today (RT),

The US Congress has backed an amendment to the 2020 US Defense budget which could force an investigation into allegations that the pentagon had weaponized insects, including ticks, in a secret program.

U.S. Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ-4), on July 12, 2019, published the following information on his official webpage: Chris Smith’s Lyme Disease Amendment Passes House, Tells DOD IG to Investigate the ‘Bioweaponization’ of Ticks.”

Holy mackerel, Sapphire!

Hasn’t that weaponized tick “conspiracy theory” been making the rounds for years now?

RT says,

Rumors have persisted for years of researchers at New York’s Plum Island and Maryland’s Fort Detrick conducting experiments on insects to turn them into biological weapons though no conclusive evidence of such biowarfare programs has been found. Yet.

In Rep. Smith’s statement, he requests

…[T]he Inspector General (IG) of the Department of Defense to investigate the “possible involvement of DOD biowarfare labs in the weaponization of Lyme disease in ticks and other insects”  from 1950-1975. [CJF emphasis]

Furthermore, Smith asked:

“My amendment tasks the DOD Inspector General to ask the hard questions and report back,” he said.  During debate on his amendment, Smith said the investigation would explore such questions as:

“what were the parameters of the program?

who ordered it?

was there ever any accidental release anywhere or at any time of any diseased ticks?

were any ticks released by design?

did the program contribute to the disease burden?

can any of this information help current-day researchers find a way to mitigate these diseases?”

Smith has a long record of fighting for people suffering from Lyme disease.  He is the author of the pending bipartisan, bicameral TICK Act introduced earlier this year to create a whole-of-government national strategy to aggressively fight Lyme disease.  The TICK Act (Ticks: Identify, Control, Knockout Act) (HR 3073) authorizes an additional $180 million to boost funding for Lyme research, prevention and treatment programs.

Probably the most important question of all, which Rep. Smith probably forgot to ask, is:

Why has the CDC, in conjunction with healthcare insurance companies’ policies terms and conditions, permitted only a certain number of antibiotic treatments, rather than diagnosing Lyme disease as a chronic condition to permit ongoing treatments?  What would that do to the healthcare insurance plans bottom lines?

The reason I ask that question is because Lyme disease bacterium can survive the suggested 2-4 week antibiotic treatment. The treatment does not guarantee eradication of all Lyme disease pathogens.” [1]

Furthermore, “There are 12 strains of Borrelia that are known to cause Lyme disease, and standard serology only tests for ONE.” [1]

However, the most ‘secret’ secret about Lyme disease is that it can be contracted through sexual intercourse and the exchange of bodily fluids!

What do you think about that?
