US Navy Ship Quarantined at Sea for Vaccine Preventable Virus, Despite 100% Vaccination Rate

The USS Fort McHenry, a dock landing ship, has been stuck at sea for months, along with hundreds of Marines and sailors aboard after dozens of crew members contracted mumps. The ship remains quarantined as officials with the Navy and Marines Corps Public Health Center conduct an in-depth epidemiological investigation.
The cases began to surface in December after the ship departed Mayport Naval Station in Florida. Although that was the last time at port, “the point of origin has not yet been determined,” the Fifth Fleet noted.
The Navy’s Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) explained to Business Insider that “based on clinical presentation and laboratory testing, these cases are currently classified as probable cases of mumps,” one of a number of illnesses that all US military personnel are vaccinated against.

Every single person aboard the USS Fort McHenry has been vaccinated against this virus, yet dozens have been infected. Even after more booster vaccines were administered, more cases of the vaccine-preventable virus appeared.
“Since the onset of the first case, the ship’s medical department has implemented health protection measures, provided an additional outbreak-specific dose of vaccine to the crew, and managed patients to stop the spread of the illness,” BUMED explained.
However, after all the cases appeared to be over in March, several new cases began surfacing toward the end of last month. Luckily, all of the service members have made a full recovery and returned to normal duty.
“The health and welfare of our Sailors and Marines is paramount,” the Navy said, “Our servicemembers are receiving the best care to treat this illness and prevent it from spending to others.”
“The Navy’s position is that vaccines are effective at reducing the incidence and severity of vaccine-preventable diseases,” BUMED told BI. Unfortunately, “the mumps portion of the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine is the least effective of the three components, providing 88% effectiveness after completion of the two dose series.”
According to BI, for the mumps, the incubation period is 25 days, so it will be another 50 days after the last affected service member recovers before the Navy can declare the situation under control.
The ship has been at sea now for several months without making a port call. As a former Marine, I can attest to the frustration and morale killer that this prolonged deployment with no outside contact can foster. It’s like being in a prison.
The Free Thought Project is reporting on this incident, not to promote ‘antivaxxer information’ but because it highlights the fact that even when vaccination rates are at 100%, we can still see outbreaks.
This should raise concern over the fact that New York is forcing families against their will to receive this very same vaccine. Currently, families who are refusing the forced MMR vaccinations in New York are being hit with fines totaling thousands of dollars.
The hysteria over this measles outbreak borderlines on insanity as measles is not even on the list of federally quarantinable diseases. Yet quarantines are already happening.
Furthermore, though 90,000 people die around the world from measles every year, according to the World Health Organization, malnutrition, especially vitamin A deficiency is the primary cause of death in those cases. In fact, 75-92% of measles hospitalizations in the United States are also due to vitamin A deficiency.
Even the CDC admits that before the measles mass vaccination program was introduced, nearly everyone contracted measles and obtained lifetime immunity by age 15.
According to Physicians for Informed Consent, in the modern era, it is rare to suffer permanent disability or death from measles in the United States. Between 1900 and 1963, the mortality rate of measles dropped from 13.3 per 100,000 to 0.2 per 100,000 in the population, due to advancements in living conditions, nutrition, and health care—a 98% decline—not the vaccine. This is illustrated in the figure below.
According to the CDC, since October, there have only been 329 cases of measles in the New York area. There have only been 25 hospitalizations and zero deaths. In fact, in the entire country, there have only been three measles-related deaths — in the last 20 years.
Yet still, government is tracking down those who haven’t received the measles vaccine and forcing them to take it, threatening their very freedom if they refuse.
To be clear, no one here is advocating “antivaxxer” information. TFTP is simply questioning the government forcing medical procedures on citizens without their consent.
According to the report, the mandate orders all unvaccinated people in four zip codes to receive inoculations, including children as young as 6 months old. Anyone who resists faces a misdemeanor charge and could be fined up to $1,000.
The families who have already been caught trying to refuse the vaccine are now being threatened with $2,000 fines if they do not show up to their hearings.
As all fines and misdemeanor charges are enforced with the promise of violence, we could very well see people imprisoned or worse if they resist.
