Dow Chemical Lobbyist of 20 Yrs Appointed to EPA to Manage Highly Toxic Superfund Sites
On Friday, President Trump made another decision to do the exact opposite of “drain the swamp.”
He chose another chemical industry insider to manage the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) office that oversees cleanups of the infamous highly toxic Superfund sites across America, and handles emergency responses to toxic spills.
The EPA is the government agency tasked with cleaning up, or pretending to clean up, the mistakes of the military industrial complex, Big Ag, and all of those entities. The part of the EPA that cleans up Superfund sites is primarily the office of Land and Emergency Management.
The office of Land and Emergency Management is what Peter C. Wright will now lead, as the EPA’s assistant administrator for the office. Wright was a corporate lawyer at Dow Chemical Co. for nearly the past 20 years, since 1999. He had almost 20 years of time to become loyal to the corporation.

Almost as astounding as ex-CDC director Julie Gerberding becoming the president of Merck’s vaccine division, this continues the pattern. Normalization of blatant corporate collusion with regulatory agencies is occurring, and they are normalizing it by making it seem like the most qualified person for a regulatory position of power is to be from a company they are regulating. That is a gullible and fallacious way of thinking.

Despite Trump’s campaign pledges to “drain the swamp” in Washington, Wright’s nomination is the latest example of the president appointing corporate lawyers or lobbyists to supervise federal offices that directly regulate their former employers.
Don’t forget to place your trust anywhere but in the EPA. They are known for hiring companies to test for radiation and things at the Superfund sites that they are supposed to manage and clean up, and the companies make fraudulent soil tests.
In the Hunter’s Point neighborhood of San Francisco, California a scandal erupted behind one of these EPA hired companies who falsified soil tests so apartments and things could be built on land that was once used by the Navy for animal experimentation.

In Hunter’s Point, the Navy would take apart and examine ships they struck with nuclear bombs in the Pacific and get radiation everywhere. The EPA denies that they knew the company would falsify soil tests but do you really trust the EPA didn’t know?
A court decision could lead to the EPA banning water fluoridation, that was also reported recently. However, considering who the EPA really is subservient to I wouldn’t count on them to get the job done.
Trump personally appointed this Dow chemical lobbyist, and it is consistent with all his other actions: completely stuffing the “swamp” full of corporate executives.
A USA Today headline from nearly a year ago reads, “President Trump’s budget would cut Superfund toxic cleanup program by 30%.” A few months after becoming president he was already going in this direction.
So those who are still supporting Trump, look: he said he would take people’s guns without due process recently. He said drug dealers should be executed to deal with the opiate epidemic, while his administration tries to demonize kratom.
Dow Chemical is a company that is affiliated with the sect of political power that Donald Trump claims no allegiance to, and claims to oppose: the Clinton Clan.
Bill Clinton has business ties to Dow. According to an article from The Washington Post of all places titled “Inside ‘Bill Clinton Inc.’: Hacked memo reveals intersection of charity and personal income”:
When top Bill Clinton aide Douglas Band wrote the memo, he was a central player at the Clinton Foundation and president of his own corporate consulting firm. Over the course of 13 pages, he made a case that his multiple roles had served the interests of the Clinton family and its charity.
In doing so, Band also detailed a circle of enrichment in which he raised money for the Clinton Foundation from top-tier corporations such as Dow Chemical and Coca-Cola that were clients of his firm, Teneo, while pressing many of those same donors to provide personal income to the former president.

Remember: Dow Chemical pays Bill Clinton, and its lobbyists become figures in the Trump Administration because this is all a game to them.
