Horrific Footage Shows Bull Killing Itself After Crowd Sets It On Fire

bull killing itself

By Heather Callaghan, Editor

It is with great sadness and quite honestly little composure that I report an oddity that you’ll have not a single doubt actually happened in Spain’s Foios, Valencia.

A bull clearly commits suicide after realizing the futility of its dire situation. Crowd members of the Bulls in the Street festival set the roped creature’s horns ablaze in the small town square and the indignity of this violent end was too much for its consciousness to bear. With seeming determination, the bull aimed and charged the pole at literal breakneck speed, never to arise again.

Even the crowd, thirsty for the crescendo, had to stop in garish awe of the blunted event. The footage was released by Bulls Defenders United on Sunday to raise awareness about the gruesome nature of bull fighting.

Please be aware that the video below contains graphic, violent and disturbing footage – one of the most disturbing things this writer has ever witnessed.

The footage was shocking enough to have mainstream media reports finally calling the incident what it really is – barbaric. Not a sport, not sportsmanlike and no longer just “tradition” – but the end of an innocent life.

Watch at your own risk – you will never be the same again.

Business Insider reports:

Only 19% of Spanish adults support bullfighting, and in recent years many Spanish towns and regions have attempted to ban the practice.

In case after case, however, the national government has blocked each attempt. Just in 2016, the country’s highest court struck down a law passed by the large autonomous region of Catalunya, which would ban bullfighting. This is largely because in 2013, the Spanish Congress granted bullfighting a cultural heritage status, which means it has legal protections that prohibit any regions in Spain from banning the practice locally.

There have been other cases of animals in captivity either shortening their own lives or refusing to eat causing people to rethink the consciousness of animal beings. Animal advocates call these entertainment/sporting industries that use animals outdated and a “dying industry.”

Maybe the bull’s last brave act could be a death knell for this industry and could set fire on the hearts of onlookers.
