Jimmy John’s Founder Denies He’s the Naked Trophy Hunter Straddling Shark

Jimmy John’s founder Jimmy John Liautaud is in the public eye again as a circulating photograph of what appears to be a naked trophy hunter straddling a freshly killed shark is drawing speculation that it might be him.
However, there is also speculation leveled at University of Florida football coach Jim McElwain, but both men have denied involvement. Both high-profile men share a resemblance to each other and share features similar to the person in the photo. McElwain said, “I don’t know who it is, but it isn’t me.”
The unknown person appears to be in a sexually provocative position, with the rear over the area where a shark’s dorsal fin would be. The photo hints of things that are among the most lurid, taboo topics for the human mind to fathom.

A Daily Mail report last week stated that British wildlife TV presenter, Anneka Svenska, shared the photo on Twitter in a desperate plea to find out who the mysterious naked person was. “Where is the humor in humiliating slaughtered animals?” Svenska wrote. “Find him and ask him why he did this,” she said. It is not clear yet how she obtained the photo; however, she plans to make a film about the viral photo.
We cannot say who is in the photo because we don’t know, but the reason people think the person in the above photo might be Liautaud is because of his past, shocking photos of his trophy hunting days, complete with wide grins. Liautaud said that the photos were 10 years old and claims that he no longer trophy hunts exotic game. However, there were many guesses of McElwain, too.

Again, we cannot say who is in this unfortunate photo – we do not know if Liautaud is in the photo nor do we claim so. We are sorry to share this imagery – however, it brings awareness to a violent practice and perhaps the people behind it. We don’t wish to add strength to the disheartening, lurid things of the world. Maybe this awareness can stoke the consciousness of others who may be considering partaking in this practice someday. Clearly, it is not worth a temporary boost in elite status.

By putting it out into the public eye, the inevitable shame it can bring to those with a conscious can allay the practice, and show those without shame that the world is watching.
