The Ice Cube Trick That Will Save Your Houseplants
So, you’ve bought yourself a houseplant. I know the feeling – now you just need more and more by the month. They can turn into pets, they will grow on you and you will love them so much.
You feel a sense of devastation when they die – a hole in your life appears and it’s just something that you cannot shake.Â
You’re watering them consistently, day-to-day and caring for them like they are your children. But still – they begin to wilt away and lose all essence of life. Unlike kids however, plants cannot scream, shout and cry for help but only flourish or die – death is a sign you’re doing it wrong.

So, the simple steps? Water them regularly, put them in a proper room to fulfill their needs (sunlight or not?) and try and remove those pesky dead leaves that somehow keep cropping up!
What are you doing wrong?! Over-watering. Just like any human, a plant can drown as well as dehydrate. Oxygen is needed for the roots to live and grow – over-watering prevents that from even beginning to happen. You’re going on holiday – you’re thinking: “Oh, i best put some more water in for the plants to be OK whilst we’re away”. No! Don’t do it! Get someone that can regularly take care of your beloved greenery whilst you are away. They need to be aptly taken care of.
Now for why you’re here. The Ice Cube Trick. Grab a few cubes (or one if it’s unreasonably large) and place it on top of the soil for the plant. As it melts – the plant will have enough time to absorb the water without dying at same time!
It’s really as simple as that.
