8-Year-Old Explains How TV and Violent Games Disrupt the Pineal Gland
By Vic Bishop
What is it about the pineal gland, our third eye, that makes it so mysterious? The secretory function is just now partially understood, but philosophers throughout history have regarded it as having particular importance due to its location deep in the brain, and its sensed connection to spirit.
Philosopher Rene Descartes regarded the pineal gland as, “the principal seat of the soul and the place in which all our thoughts are formed”. In his book The Passions of the Soul, he describes how the human soul is connected with the physical body by the pineal, which is suspended above the passage through which spirits in the brain’s anterior cavities communicate with spirits in its posterior cavities.

He emphasizes the dangers of watching ridiculous garbage on TV, insisting there are much better things to do with life. Furthermore, he explains why we should detest violent video games for their role in creating violence in our society, and the value of instead enjoying those that inspire creativity.

Interestingly enough, it even has the same rod and cone structure of a normal eye and is light sensitive, with similar pigments, and connected to the optic thalami.
