California Moves to Force Childcare Workers to Vaccinate or Be Criminals

By Heather Callaghan

If you want to work with children in California – it is very likely that soon you will “need your shots” or be guilty of committing a crime. Daycare or childcare workers operating from the state, private/commercial or from the home will be required to get the CDC recommended shots – that’s essentially anyone who works in childcare.

Sen. Tony Mendoza (D-Artesia) introduced SB 792 in late February. If passed, it would make California the first state in history to require compulsory vaccinations for childcare workers. Predictably, it was quietly introduced during the Disneyland measles outbreak that was virtually over with by the time the bill started moving. The outbreak is the foremost reason given for the law.

The bill leaves the door open to receive all future recommended vaccines in the Pharma pipeline and states:

Commencing September 1, 2016, a person shall not be employed at a day care center if he or she has not been immunized according to the schedule for routine adult immunizations, as recommended by the federal Centers for Disease Control’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, with the exception of immunization against human papillomavirus (HPV)

 LA Times reports:

While the outbreak linked to Disneyland did not result in any fatalities, children have died in the country from other diseases that can be prevented by vaccines, he said.

“One child’s death is one too many, especially when it may be preventable,” Mendoza said Friday. “We must do everything in our power to protect California’s children who spend time in day care.”

The state Senate voted 34-3 to approve SB 792 and send it to the Assembly. Sen. John Moorlach (R-Costa Mesa) voted against the bill, calling it an overreach.

“It seems that just providing notification to the parents of the children that an employee or volunteer at the day care center has not had their full vaccinations would be more advisable,” Moorlach said during the floor debate.

Sadly, the deaths of children and adults directly resulting from vaccines have been completely dismissed. The safety of children exposed to asymptomatic viral shedding of those recently vaccinated goes ignored despite studies highlighting this crucial fact. Furthermore, the pharmaceutical companies and lawmakers don’t want you to inquire about why disease outbreaks happen in a state with a 97.46% vaccination rate.

Reimbursements won’t be given to childcare workers for this mandate because not following the mandate would be a criminal act. The consequences of the crime are not readily detected in the bill.

Exemptions would only be allowed with a significant medical condition that would make vaccination dangerous (that’s an extremely rare exemption) signed by an M.D. or for a signed declaration that the worker will not be getting the influenza vaccine. Furthermore, it looks like the bill contains riders that are foisting more educational, license and certification requirements for providing daycare.

People tend to find reassurance in loopholes and exemptions whenever legislation comes along to take away their basic rights such as medical autonomy. Unfortunately, that only corrals people into false comfort when in reality the idea is always to come back and close the loop.

Think about this – there are a lot of people telling Californians to “just homeschool.” Firstly, everyone deserves inherent human rights – the right to their own body. But getting a public education is a recognized right that came along later – thanks to our own endowments – and didn’t hinge on forced injections. “Just homeschool” is an insensitive response that doesn’t take into account that this has already been covered by lawmakers. If you can’t teach pre-school commercially or from your own home – what do you think homeschooling looks like to the State? Will the riders in this bill scrutinize parents who haven’t completed daycare certification?

It’s time to start thinking like lawmakers and realize that public safety is the last thing on their minds. Read more reasons to reject this bill.

This is another dangerous precedent indeed. With all liability removed from the vaccine manufacturers and paid out to a select few of the many people injured by vaccines, and laws ready to go to force injections  on all children and plans for adults – what could possibly go wrong?

“If there is a risk, there must be a choice.” Informed consent is human right. Having to choose between your livelihood or forced injections is not freedom of choice.
