No-Vaxx Mom In California Writes Letter Asking For State To Apologize For Measles Hype.
Dear California,
I would like an apology. I would like an apology for your attacks on my 7 year old daughter. I’d like an apology for your attacks on my ability to parent without your interference.
And here is why.

According to you, you are seeing some of the lowest vaccine rates in decades. The SF Chronical painted a picture of “the rural aren’t vaccinating,” which clearly is a media spun shot (pun intended) trying to paint a picture of the “lesser sophisticated not understanding vaccines.” That’s not my interpretation; it is your attempt at influencing interpretation.
Of 100 measles cases, there have been no deaths. None. So in a state that has 38 million people, 133 of them got measles and they have all lived. As of the writing of this letter, it should be clearly noted, there have been no new cases. Shouldn’t there be mass infections? Where is Samuel L. Jackson in his Ebola suit?
Based on everything we have heard, how is no one being held accountable for the lack of actual death or mass infection? Don’t we need one or both of those statements to hold true in order to fit the media billing of “the great measles outbreak of 2015?” Or did Big Pharma bail us out, heartfelt and true, the patriots they are, with more meds? What happened?
I sit on standby, waiting for Bill Nye the Science Guy to come in and explain why this has not been the case. Where are Penn and Teller and their grapefruits? I guess in this case the grapefruits have missed the targets. Teller and that bad aim of his must be the reasoning.
I am tired of a total lack of accountability in this country. The fact is, if the measles were to spread rapidly and children began dying, I’d admit to my portion of wrong. I’d stand up and say, “Hey, maybe I wasn’t correct here.” But that’s not what is happening, we aren’t getting any “maybe I wasn’t…” anything. We are just getting a more energized, more motivated and continued onslaught of public memos, doctors on Jimmy Kimmel calling me an asshole, and constant online articles about how I am killing babies.
Still, no apologies. No one telling me that they are sorry for what they said. No, of course I don’t want to see any children die, which ironically is why I do what I do by not vaccinating. Without death and mayhem and contagion, haven’t we lost sight of why the heck you told me to vaccinate in the first place?
I want accountability. You force me to have it when I make mistakes. Where is yours?
I’ll be waiting.
Sincerely,
The Mother You Pushed Too Far
