Hemp Finally Legalized in North Carolina
LAS VEGAS, NV— Nov 2, 2015 – Now LEGALIZED, North Carolina will be home to the only industrial hemp commercial decortication facility in the United States. On October 31, 2015 Governor Pat McCrory passed Senate Bill 313 (by not vetoing it) as “an act to recognize the importance and legitimacy of Industrial Hemp research, to provide for compliance with portions of the Federal Agricultural Act of 2014, and to promote increased agricultural employment.”
Farmers in North Carolina now have the option to cultivate hemp crops with easy access to Hemp, Inc.’s (OTC PINK: HEMP) multipurpose industrial hemp commercial processing facility in Spring Hope, NC.
According to the article, Legalization is a Game Changer for Hemp, Inc., in Microcap Daily posted yesterday by Paul Knag, “Hemp, Inc. is making a spectacular move up transforming into one of the top traded stocks on the entire bb’s after a bill that would make Industrial hemp legal in North Carolina was not vetoed by Governor Pat McCrory, meaning it will now be passed into law.” Click here to see full article.

The North Carolina General Assembly:
…finds and declares that it is in the best interest of the citizens of North Carolina to promote and encourage the development of an industrial hemp industry in the State in order to expand employment, promote economic activity, and provide opportunities to small farmers for an environmentally sustainable and profitable use of crop lands that might otherwise be lost to agricultural production. The purposes of this Article are to establish an agricultural pilot program for the cultivation of industrial hemp in the State, to provide for reporting on the program by growers and processors for agricultural or other research, and to pursue any federal permits or waivers necessary to allow industrial hemp to be grown in the State.

Bruce Perlowin’s, CEO of Hemp, Inc, decision to keep the decortication plant in North Carolina paid off and the company is now more easily able to uphold its commitment to the American farmers in North Carolina. “Hemp, Inc. has made a commitment to North Carolina farmers to pay 10% above the market price for their hemp crops, for the first year, to help boost the industry and give our farmers a helping hand. So if there are any farmers interested in growing hemp in North Carolina, contact David Schmitt of Hemp, Inc.’s subsidiary, Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC by visiting http://ihempman.com/contact.html.
“Currently, Hemp, Inc. is very interested in farmers wanting to process certified organic hemp or those farmers who want to become certified. David Schmitt can give them that information to begin that process,” said Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc.
Ensuring new eco-friendly, sustainable crops are of utmost importance. Goodbye Cotton, Hello Hemp posted in Huffington Post cited 270,000 farmers committed suicide from being overburdened with debt. “A combined 35 percent of the world’s insecticides and pesticides are applied to cotton plants, which grow on less than 3 percent of the crop land on Earth. Runoff can destroy sensitive ecosystems, even if chemicals are ‘properly applied according to technical instructions.’  Higher-than-ever prices for farming inputs have hit growers hard, despite better yields. More than 270,000 farmers have committed suicide since 1995 after falling into ‘unmanageable debt.'”
“We hope our 10% North Carolina Hemp Special will help reverse this deadly trend. We suppport the small family farm and aren’t particularly interested in large agri-business style hemp crop production. We want to support and encourage the small family farm and non-gmo, certified organic hemp production. No herbicides, fungicides, or pesticides… as this will help create a new clean green agricultural and industrial American revolution,” said Perlowin. “I was a bit surprised at the amount of inquiries we’ve been getting by phone and email about how many land owners wanted to grow hemp so quickly just days after becoming legal in North Carolina.”
Hemp, Inc.’s  multipurpose industrial hemp processing facility in Spring Hope, North Carolina will process hemp to sell to textile manufacturers and other users. The multimillion-dollar plant is nearing the start of production. In another article, Industrial Hemp Poised to Become NC’s Newest Legal Crop, by Colin Campbell for The News and Observer, David Schmitt, COO of Hemp, Inc.’s subsidiary, Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC explains in a video, the manufacturing process of the decortication facility and what they expect to accomplish now that industrial hemp is legal in North Carolina. (Read full article here.)
Last week, the first of many portable decortication plants also arrived at Hemp, Inc.’s facility. This will allow Hemp, Inc. to help farmers decorticate their crops in states too far away to utilize our processing facilities, such as Colorado, Kentucky, Oregon, Virginia, Pennsylvania and other states.
Hemp, Inc. executives also announced, in a previous press release, that they will build a testing lab within their facility. According to David Schmitt, COO of Hemp, Inc. Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC, the lab will be for new product development testing and testing raw hemp materials, fibers and hemp-based products. Not only will Hemp, Inc.’s decortication facility be the only commercial facility in the United States located in North Carolina, it will also be home to the only commercial testing lab for industrial hemp that we are aware of.
Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. says the company will use “reclaimed wood” from North Cal Wood Products to build the new testing lab and new office space at the facility. The “reclaimed wood” used to build the lab and office space, will increase the insulation of the inside of the warehouse, thereby making the facility more energy efficient. The wood is currently in transit from California to Spring Hope, North Carolina and is expected to arrive any day.
Between the multipurpose industrial hemp processing facility, the portable decortication machines, and the Hemp laboratory (currently under construction) Hemp, Inc. is poised to be the avant-garde of the industrial hemp industry.
