The List: Healthiest Coffee Brands, According to Brew Experts
Since 2002, Stumptown pioneers have been buying directly from producers. They respectively give each of their producers credit by publishing their names and locations on their website. According to Eat This, Not That, Stumptown has 15 single-origin varieties and eight certified organic varieties.
NY Mag had Stumptown mentioned twice on their list of healthiest coffees. You can find this brand both online and in stores. Its caramel and citrusy flavors are present whether you enjoy it via drip, pour-over, or expresso.
Taste of Home hails Stumptown as having the best dark roast organic coffee. It blends Central and South American beans which result in hints of clove, marshmallow and chocolate. Fresh from the bag, this coffee is also great for cold brew.
Walk, don’t run if you see Kicking Horse on the shelves. These Canadian beans have been around since 2003 selling 100% organic coffee beans. Thirteen years in a row, it has been named Canada’s number one selling Organic Fairtrade (Eat This, Not That).
With Kicking Horse, you can always expect fair-trade, organic beans roasted in the Rocky Mountains. With their decaf, they use a special Swiss Water method consisting of a water and carbon filtration, while according to Very Well Fit, other common decaf processes use chemical solvents.

This Canadian based company has a popular Kick Ass (dark roast) blend, in addition to delicious light and medium roasts. Their brewing methods are available in French press, drip machine, pour-over, espresso, and cold brew. The Mindful Mama loves this tasty coffee and that they can get it at a discount at Thrive Market.
Lifeboost was invented by a chiropractor with the goal of making a coffee easy on the tummy. Although this is one of the more pricey options on the list of healthiest coffee brands, Organically Becca claims its quality is worth it.
Another bean with low acidity, Lifeboost is not greedy with its flavor. With the caramel, butterscotch, and chocolatey taste that NY Mag describes it has, how can you not love the flavor?
Lifeboost claims to be the healthiest coffee on the planet, and they aren’t far off. They offer a laundry list of health consciousness into each pour which include fairly trade, shade-grown, and non GMO. Eat This, Not That describes the coffee as “single-origin roasts are smooth, easy on the stomach, and certified organic.”
If you think that Lavazza sounds like someone’s last name, it is. This family-named brand is a rich-bodied Italian roast that Single Handed Products describes with “notes of honey, malt, and chocolate.”
Italy’s best-selling coffee should be your go-to if you love expresso. The Gran Selezione is coined the brand’s best roast by Eat This, Not That, but other favorites, such as Classico can be found online, at Coscto or at Target.
The Lavazza brand is no rookie, they have been pleasing coffee lovers for over 120 years. Since Amazon has existed, more than 80,000 shoppers have added it to their carts. Taste of Home explains their coffee comes from “hand-picked beans are grown organically and sustainably on farms certified by the Rainforest Alliance.”
Purity comes in five targeted health benefit roasts: Protect, Flow, Ease, Calm, and Balance. They are strong supporters that coffee is beneficial to our health. Founder Andrew Salisbury was inspired to create pure coffee when his wife started experiencing health issues. Organically Becca tells us that Purity has an average of 65 percent higher antioxidant levels than other coffee brands.
At a bit of a higher price point, Purity is worth the sustainably-sourced USDA Organic Certified coffee investment. The Mindful Mama explains that they use “third-party testing to avoid mold and mycotoxins, and ensure high antioxidant levels.” Purity is a very popular healthy coffee with a 4.9 start rating among 33,000 coffee drinkers. They have a commitment to quality coffee production and don’t overlook a single step in the process.
6. Fabula
It’s not only good for you, but Organically Becca was intrigued by Fabula’s cute branding. How can you not be with the brand’s dedication to each bean? Fabula means story and they believe each bean has its own. The brand was born in Peru when its founders were impressed by the local mountain-side coffee.
Even better, Fabula partners with One Tree Planted non-profit to roast shipped coffee right before it is sent to you for maximum freshness. The Good Trade says major news outlets like ABC and Fox have even covered its benefits.
Fabula has plenty of options for roasts including light, medium, dark, dark cold brew, espresso, seasonal roaster’s special, and Turkish flavored in vanilla, hazelnut, buttery caramel, chocolate nut. Very Well Fit admits that Fabula does not skip on quality.
7. Four Sigmatic Organic Ground Mushroom Coffee
You may be surprised to learn that besides the superfoods and adaptogens Four Sigmatic includes in their coffees, they also add mushrooms. Don’t worry, there is no fungi flavor present here. Organically Becca calls the brand pioneers of the mushroom coffee movement.
Some coffee brands have an acidic flavor. That is not the case with Four Sigmatic. It exudes a richness and smoothness that is hard to compete with. NY Mag adds that it also “boosts your immune system, supports memory, and increases energy levels.”
A fairly new brand, Four Sigmatic is also said to improve sleep and reduce stress. Taste of Home explains that while it is one of the healthier coffee brands, some think it has a strong after taste. If that doesn’t bother you, try it out!
